NSF/WHO Collaborating Center

The World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations specialized agency for health, was established on 7 April 1948. WHO is governed by 192 Member States through the World Health Assembly. WHO’s objective is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. It accomplishes this goal, in part, with the assistance of its worldwide network of WHO Collaborating Centres, which are organizations or institutions that participate in the strengthening of country, regional, or world resources, in terms of information, services, research and training. Collaborating Centres must demonstrate the capacity to fulfill a function or functions relevant to the Organization’s program and objectives, and institutions of high scientific and technical standing that have already attained international recognition may qualify for designation as WHO Collaborating Centres. NSF International is pleased to be a WHO Collaborating Centre for drinking water safety and treatment, and for food safety.
